Editorial and sourcing policy
Every photo, signature and thumb size ExamFitr publishes comes from the exam body's or issuing authority's own notice or portal. Each size shows its source link and the date we last checked it. If we can't read the official document, we don't publish the size.

The rules
- Official sources only. A size counts as published only when we have read it in the official notification, information bulletin, instruction PDF or application portal of the body that runs the exam or issues the document (for example ssc.gov.in, upsc.gov.in, nta.ac.in, ibps.in, passportindia.gov.in). Coaching sites, news articles, forums and other resizer sites (including competitors) are never the source of a published size.
- A source link and a checked date on every size. Exam pages show the document we used and the date we last opened it and compared the numbers. The same data feeds the editor, the exam pages, the sitemaps and llms.txt, so they can't drift apart.
- Derived values are labelled. Some bodies give a size in centimetres or inches without pixels. We then convert at the DPI the notice states (or 200 DPI if none is given) and mark the pixels as derived, with the original wording next to them.
- Confidence levels. In the editor each preset is marked official (read in the official document), secondary (the official file could not be opened, so a summary was used) or unverified (carried over without a source). Only official sizes are printed on pages that search engines index. The other two stay usable in the editor with a visible warning.
- No page without an official size. An exam group with no official size gets no indexable page: either no page at all, or a page marked
noindexthat is left out of the sitemap. - Stricter wins. When an official source gives a range and an older or regional notice gives a narrower one, the editor targets the narrower range, so the file passes both.
- Always verify. Requirements change between recruitment cycles. Every page tells you to compare with the latest notification before you submit, and ExamFitr is not affiliated with any exam body (see the disclaimer).
What this means today
- 68 official sizes across 32 exam and document pages are published.
- 27 sizes in the editor are secondary or unverified, so they are not printed on indexed pages.
- 4 exam pages are hidden from search until their official notice can be read: RRB, Agniveervayu, UPSSSC PET, Schengen.
- 10 groups have no page at all for the same reason: Army / Navy, State TET, RPSC, MPPSC, KPSC, Australia visa, IELTS, TOEFL, GRE, GMAT.
These counts are generated from the preset database at build time.
How a size is checked
- Find the latest notification or instruction document on the official website.
- Read the upload section and copy the exact numbers: pixels or centimetres, the KB range, the file format, the background and any rule such as a name-and-date strip.
- Record the document title and URL and the date of the check in the preset database.
- Run the editor with the preset and check the downloaded file's pixels and bytes in automated tests (
tests/e2e_tool.pyandtests/e2e_controls.py). - Re-check when a new notification is published, and when someone reports a difference.
Corrections
Every exam page has a “Report a wrong size” link. It opens an email to support@examfitr.com with the page already filled in. Please include a link to the official notice. When a report checks out, we fix the preset and update the checked date. Changes users can see are listed in the changelog.
How guides are written
Guides and page text are drafted with the help of AI writing tools and then checked. Every size is compared with the official source above, and every measured number (file sizes, quality settings, timings) comes from our own tests, published with their method on the benchmark page. We don't publish invented reviews, ratings, user counts or testimonials.

Sources for every published exam page
Individual documents on an exam page can have their own source; the exam page lists each one.
