Central government job photo and signature sizes: SSC, UPSC, India Post GDS
SSC captures your photo live during the application, so you upload only a signature of about 6 × 2 cm (10–20 KB). UPSC wants a JPG photo of 20–200 KB on plain white with the face covering about 75%, plus one image with three signatures (20–100 KB). India Post GDS recommends a 320 × 400 px photo (30–100 KB) and a 300 × 120 px signature.

What Central government recruitment (SSC, UPSC, India Post) forms have in common
- SSC states the signature in centimetres only; 472 × 157 px is 6 × 2 cm at 200 DPI.
- UPSC's triple signature: sign three times one below the other in black ink on plain white paper and scan all three as a single image (350–500 px, 20–100 KB). For the photo, UPSC's OTR FAQ allows 550–1000 px; the editor uses 550 × 550 px.
- India Post GDS: the user manual says 20–50 KB for the signature while the notification says 20–100 KB — 20–50 KB satisfies both.
