How ExamFitr works
A complete walkthrough — from uploading your photo to downloading a file that passes the portal's size check on the first try. Everything below happens in your browser; nothing is uploaded.
Upload your photo or signature
Click the upload area, drag a file in, or paste from your clipboard (Ctrl/Cmd+V). ExamFitr accepts JPG, PNG, WEBP and BMP, plus iPhone HEIC/HEIF photos and TIFF scans — decoded automatically in your browser.
Choose your exam, then the document type
Pick your exam, then switch between Photo, Signature, Thumb and Declaration (the types that exam needs appear automatically). Each preset shows its source link and when it was last checked. The exact pixel size, KB range and format fill in for you. Not listed? Paste the portal's requirement text and the tool configures itself.
Crop and frame
Drag the crop box — it's locked to the required aspect ratio, so your photo never comes out stretched. For photos, use Center on face to frame the face with the correct headroom.
Fix the background (optional)
Click Remove background to cut yourself out, then pick a clean white, blue, red or custom background — ideal for passport-style photos. It runs on your device; the model is downloaded once from this site, then cached so it's quick next time. If “Best” can't run on your device, the tool switches to “Light” automatically.
Hit the exact size
Use a quick target (20–50 KB, under 100 KB, under 200 KB) or type a number and press “Make it exactly this size.” ExamFitr tunes quality — and pads the file when needed — to land inside the required range. It can also embed the correct DPI.

Watch the live preview and the validation badge. When it turns green, press Download for a correctly-named, portal-ready file.
Signature tips
- Sign on white paper with a dark pen and photograph or scan it in good light.
- Turn on Auto-crop whitespace & center to trim the blank margins automatically.
- Use Whiten paper background and Blacken ink for a clean, high-contrast signature.
Thumb impressions & handwritten declarations
Bank exams (IBPS, RBI, LIC) ask for a left-thumb impression and a handwritten declaration. Pick the exam, switch the document type to Thumb or Declaration, and the same clean-up tools as signatures (auto-crop, whiten paper, darken ink) apply at the right pixel size.
Name & date on photo
Some state PSCs (for example Kerala PSC) want your name and the date of photography printed on the photo. Turn on Name & date on photo in Photo mode — the strip is added below the photo and the crop box adjusts so the output stays at the exact required size.
Passport photos & print sheets
Open Passport photos & print sheet in Photo mode, choose a print size (India 35×45 mm, US 2×2 in, UK, Schengen, Canada, stamp) and a paper (A4, 4×6, 5×7, Letter). The sheet is laid out with cut marks at 300 DPI and downloads as JPG or PDF. The Passport Seva 630×810 upload file is one click away too.
Why nothing is uploaded
Traditional online resizers send your file to a server to process it. ExamFitr uses your browser's own image engine and on-device AI — with every library and model served from this website, not a third-party CDN — so the work happens locally — your photo and signature never leave your computer or phone.
