Photo and signature sizes for PAN card, Passport Seva and Voter ID
For a PAN application on Protean (NSDL) the photo is 3.5 × 2.5 cm at 200 DPI (197 × 276 px, under 20 KB) and the signature 2 × 4.5 cm (under 10 KB). Passport Seva needs a 630 × 810 px colour photo on white. Voter ID (Form 6) asks for a 3.5 × 4.5 cm photo on a white background.

What Indian ID documents (PAN, passport, voter ID) forms have in common
- Passport Seva's official guideline gives no file-size limit — check the limit shown on the upload screen.
- Passport photos must be unedited: the background can be cleaned, but don't retouch your face.
- For printed photos (35 × 45 mm) use the Passport Photo Maker, which lays out A4 and 4 × 6 inch sheets.
- Driving licence (Sarathi): photo 420 × 525 px and signature 256 × 64 px, each 10–20 KB.
