SSC uploads: frequently asked questions

What is the SSC Signature size?

472 × 157 pixels, 10–20 KB, JPEG, background: White paper, black/blue ink. Pixels: Derived: 6.0 x 2.0 cm at 200 DPI (SSC states cm, not pixels). Last checked 26 September 2026 — confirm with the latest notification.

Do I need to upload a photo for SSC CGL/CHSL 2026?

No. The 2026 notices say the application module captures a live photo through your camera. Capturing a photo of an existing photograph leads to rejection. You upload only the signature file.

Why does this page resize the signature to 472 x 157 px?

SSC gives the signature as about 6.0 cm x 2.0 cm without a DPI. 472 x 157 px is 6.0 x 2.0 cm at 200 DPI, a common scanning resolution. The binding rule is the 10-20 KB file size.

Are my SSC photo and signature uploaded to your server?

No. Cropping, resizing and compression happen in your browser. No file is uploaded or stored.

What if the SSC notification changes the size?

Specs can change every cycle. Check the new SSC notification; if the numbers differ, paste the new requirement into the tool's “Not listed?” box or type the pixels and KB — and tell us so we can update the preset.
