Privacy Policy

Last updated: 27 September 2026

ExamFitr is built around a simple promise: your images never leave your device. This policy explains what that means and what limited data is (and isn’t) involved when you use the site.

1. The images you edit

All image processing — uploading, cropping, resizing, compression, format conversion, DPI embedding, signature clean-up and AI background removal — happens locally inside your web browser. The photos and signatures you open are not transmitted to, stored on, or seen by ExamFitr or any server we operate. When you close or refresh the tab, that image data is gone.

2. On-device models & libraries (served from this site)

To remove backgrounds, decode HEIC/TIFF files and detect faces, the tool uses open-source models and libraries (the MODNet portrait-matting model with ONNX Runtime Web, Google MediaPipe, face-api, heic2any, UTIF). All of them are served from this website’s own domain — no third-party CDN is contacted. They are downloaded to your browser only when you first use the feature, cached by your browser (the background-removal model is kept in your browser’s cache storage so later visits don’t download it again), and run on your device. These are one-directional downloads of code and model files to your browser; your image is never sent anywhere.

The editor page also carries a Content-Security-Policy that only allows network connections to this site itself. You can verify all of this: open your browser’s developer tools, go to the Network tab and process a photo — no request carries your image.

3. Analytics & cookies

The tools do not need cookies to work. The site can optionally use Google Analytics 4 to count visits and see which tools and exam presets are used. It is off unless the site owner configures it, and even then it loads only after you press “Accept analytics” in the banner; until then no request is made to Google. You can change your choice any time with “Cookie settings” in the footer. Analytics events contain only the tool name, the preset, the file type, rounded sizes in KB and timings. They never contain your images, file names or file contents. Advertising and ad personalisation signals are switched off. We do not sell personal data.

4. Local storage

We store small, non-sensitive preferences (whether you’ve seen the welcome guide, and your language choice) in your browser’s local storage on your own device. This never contains your images and is not transmitted to us.

5. Advertising

If advertising is shown in the future, any ad partners’ use of cookies or identifiers will be disclosed here, and ads will never be given access to your image files.

6. Children’s privacy

ExamFitr is a general-purpose utility and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

7. Your control

Because we don’t receive or store your images, there is nothing for us to retain, share, or delete on your behalf. You are always in full control of your files on your own device.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the product evolves. Material changes will be reflected by the “Last updated” date above.
